Everyone here at TrailLite wants to wish you all a safe, festive and happy kiwi summer. Part of our commitment to our #TrailLiteFamily is to not only help them into a motorhome or caravan but also to be there for the journey, standing behind the lifestyles we create.

We've thought of everything and put together this summer survival blog post to help you make the most out of your investment and this Christmas holiday.

Firstly note down our TrailLite opening hours and call in to say hi if you are passing, our yard is stocked and you never know what you might find. Also our service team is on hand to answer questions and if you have issues help to get you back on the road, enjoying your holiday.

Secondly a big part of enjoying your motorhome or caravan over this busy holiday season is to make sure you consider some ways to alleviate the stress that often eventuates when sharing the road with hundreds of other domestic and international tourists. Stay calm, relaxed and enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.

Some tips on staying safe on the roads:

  • Stick to the speed limit and encourage tourist you meet along the way traveling in motorhomes to do so also
  • When its safe to do so, pull over and let other motorist pass
  • Try and take long road trips between destinations at non peak times
  • If you see diesel for less than $1.00 per litre-  fuel up there is some spots particularly on the Coromandel that have much more reasonable fuel prices than those near road user hot spots. Recently prices have been fluctuating by as much as 30 cents per litre!
  • Every time you fuel up wash your windscreen to keep you vision clear
  • Get some good driving sunglasses - there is nothing worst than sun-strike
  • Do not trust traffic lights, make your own judgement about when its safe to go- people are impatient at this time of year and are not afraid to run a red light!
