Keep the dream alive

Yesterday marked a milestone in New Zealand history with the announcement that all non-essential businesses must close for an initial period of four weeks. It was something that we've been planning for at TrailLite, and we're confident that we're in an excellent position to come out of this stronger than ever. These are challenging times and we support the government action to defeat Covid-19.

TrailLite has been around since 1954 and our family has owned the business since 1980. We've been through tough times before. This is an unprecedented situation but after 40 years of family ownership we are lucky to have a strong balance sheet and are well placed to wait this out. We're confident, with your support, we'll be able to continue to delight our customers and potential customers during this closure and for years to come.

Our first concern has been our staff. We have 80 talented people in our team and their wellbeing and financial security has been our primary concern. We have given our team assurance of job security and we will be paying them through the shutdown. We have an awesome team and when we get through this we are going to need all of them. 

Our sales, admin and customer success team is working remotely and will continue to help you keep the dream of on-road travel alive. At some point, New Zealand will open for business again, and our tourism industry will need us. Travelling abroad may be off the cards for some time but domestic travel, exploring our backyard and experiencing the 15,000kms of coastline, the over 700 beaches or some of the 8 million hectares of forest will be back on the agenda for many kiwis. At TrailLite, our goal is to connect kiwis with their country, and we know that one day soon connection, exploring and adventure will be needed and craved.

We're going to continue as much as we can business as usual despite our factory and service technicians on shut down. But know that our phone lines and emails will remain open so if you're out there researching and find any product that interests you get in touch we can do this digitally thanks to the technology on offer.

  • Live chat- the team are here to answer any questions you have live and in the moment. You'll see the chat icon on the bottom left corner of the screen on all of the pages on our TrailLite website. Type in your queries and we'll come right back to you 
  • Phone us - our phones are all connected so if you phone 0800 872 455 during normal buisness hours you'll get in touch with one of the team who will be able to assist you. 
  • Connect with us on social media - we'll be posting on our Facebook page over the course of the isolation period. Comment, message us and engage with the content. 
  • Download our resources. If you head to our resources page you can download and enjoy lots of content about motorhoming and caravanning.
